The news broke after several reports listed a number of other candidates for the job, including Xavi Hernandez and Ronald Koeman. This news somewhat overshadowed that of Luis Suárez receiving surgery on his knee with a recovery period of four months to follow. Barcelona will face Granada this weekend in La Liga as Setién’s first match in charge.
