Coming back from international break, it seems we have a lot to talk about. After some World Cup recap, we have a few news items, then move on to Barcelona: the women’s side, Barça B, and the first-team draw against Atletico. (2:43) We can’t believe that the USMNT won’t be at the world cup finals in Russia. (12:38) Messi saved Argentina’s bacon. (18:12) News roundup. Bartomeu will restructure the executive office. The Ballon D’or is a joke. We’ve discovered a hilariously boring interview with Andre Gomes. (31:20) The women’s side is on fire. Barça B is performing adequately. (39:37) La Liga recap, (42:10) Barcelona draws at Atletico. (1:21:39) Two matches coming up this week against Olypmiacos and Malaga.

Barça Talk is produced by and for fans of FC Barcelona, one of the largest and most widely recognized and beloved football (soccer) clubs in the world. The hosts, Brien Henderson and Gabriel Quiroga, are both devoted fans of the club and every episode engages a community of fellow English-speaking fans by discussing news about FCB and reviewing games from a fan’s perspective.

Brien is a composer and musician by training. Originally from Southern California, he spent a decade in San Francisco and now does his work in Buffalo, NY. He discovered F.C. Barcelona in 2010 and has been a devoted fan ever since. FCB is his passion.

Gabriel is from the Bay Area and is currently living in Madrid as an English teacher. Gabriel’s love affair with Barça began with the original Ronaldo where he was a phenom for the Blaugrana and has been following them ever since. Gabriel tries to see Barça once a year and continues to play football whenever he gets a chance.

FC Barcelona was victorious(thanks to Messi) with a 2-1 victory and is keeping pressure on Real Madrid in the tight league race. Episode 21 Culé Football Podcast we review the Copa del Rey match against Atlético de Madrid and La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao. All European leagues are coming back from international break and the biggest game of the weekend in La Liga is the Madrid Derby. We will be pulling for Atlético Madrid this weekend and hopefully Barca can gain some ground on Real Madrid. Barca plays Málaga CF this weekend at the Nou Camp.
